Tech:Choosing a DSLR for my own style

After viewing over some of my seniors' work in NDMC Carnival's photography club gallery, i was obsessed with thoughts of owning a DSLR. It was like a new world had been found.

Their photos contain stories and stunning effects..

I pulled out my own drawer...
Nah....Sony Cybershot WSC-D320

Basic Specs:
.14.1 Megapixel
ISO 800-3200
CCD Sensor

That was just a Digital Compact Camera...no manual focus...
So owning a DSLR is like an artist owning a new color platelet.

Currently, i went across some better cams, which i think will suit me..(or is it?)
But at least, let's do some survey before consuming.

First choice,

Canon's EoS 550D
and also,

Sony Alpha a55

then some choices of Nikon....(not surveyed yet)

Well...these two models will be the beginning of my survey...
it's not about the specs, or price, or style...just, a simple starter choice of study.

If anyone out there do know something about choosing a right DSLR, do help me and thanks!
